A couple of months ago I noted a bunch of links about visualization design patterns.

Yesterday I found another related interesting resource: the Chart Chooser. It's a fancy tool which allows you just that, to choose the most appropriate chart in order to show your data according to both their nature and your visualization requirements.

Not totally unrelated with this is slideology.com the companion website to the recent book by Nancy Duarte "slide:ology: The Art and Science of Creating Great Presentations". There I found a Brief History of Visual Aids which I personally found quite pleasant because it starts from the very beginning, i.e. from the cave paintings :)
